August 25, 2010

Rehabilitation Center

For video game addicts

Location: Unknown

He woke up sweating, and shivering. His forehead cold, he got out of bed, went to the bathroom just to find out his dreams had come true. Outside he sees the streets in fire, cars up side down, people screaming, children walking alone in the streets, looking for their mothers. At the same time at his house Alfi wakes up by the knocking on his door. “Alfi dress up right now, we are leaving” they said. “What’s going on” Alfi said. No time to explain son, here, go take your brother, he might wake up scared” his mother said. After he went down stairs he saw that everyone was their houses. While he gets his brother, he hears the city alarms sounding and coming to a sudden end. While he gets to his room whit his brother, one of the alarms falls to the ground in fire, destroying the family car.

Meanwhile, in the center, Diego puts on his clothes and gets ready to go outside. When he opens the closet he finds a shotgun, some arrows and a bow. Just before he opens the door an arrow gets stuck in his door. All of the addicts have been released and now they are armed. “Let the game Begin” Diego said just after another arrow went trough his door. It is known that addicts to video games are antisocial and selfish. The center looks like hell, blood every where, bodies lay on the ground, and everyone is trying to do their best. Diego gives his best effort to don’t get kill and to beat the game. For Diego the center fells like a video game in which he only has one life. “The only way I can get out of here is by taking everyone out” he said. Now Diego starts his journey in a place where everyone, every thing is survival of the fittest.

“What the– “Alfi said when he saw a bright light getting closer to his house. Two hours later he woke up finding his house destroyed “Anybody here” he yelled “ hello “ no answer, as he walk around in what once had been his home, he found his dad’s old ninja sword and a couple of armor pieces. Alfi – a former Gamer - can think of a fast solution to his problem. He decides to get out of the house and go in search of his missing family. As he walked trough the deserted streets he found a store and decided to go inside in search for food “I need energy to keep on my mission. I must eat something” he said. As he walked in he felt someone behind him. He slowly dragged his sword out of his back and got in a fighting position. “Show your self” he said to the air, a strong laugh came to him from behind. Gamers can act fast and they can make wise decision in short lapses of time. Not like the addicts, they know when to look for help, but more important, they know how to play the game. “Hey listen” Alfi said. “I’m not looking for trouble, only food to be able to find my family, and maybe some– ‘nah” the voice said. “The only reason why you are here is because you want all my supplies” the voice said. “NO” “I told you the only thing I want is food” just after he said that, people broke into the store and started shouting. As the voices got closer a nineteen years old, red haired tall person got into the light, with a crossbow in hand and arrows in his back he said “ listen kid if you help me get this strangers out of my store I’ll give you what you want” “All right then” Alfi said. That’s how his first confrontation began in his long journey to look for his family.

After taking out almost half of the center Alfi completed half of his task to escape the crazy center, now in order to escape he has to take out the rehabilitated addicts who teamed up with the other rehabilitated addicts. Addicts after not having played in a long time they become violent and they crave video games, now with their weapons and this opportunities all their anxieties will be paid off. Gamers take all the advantages of games and put them in their favor, wetter in solving a problem or finding a way to survive.
